Two brothers. Bound by blood and a lifetime of secrets.

Roy thought he’d buried the past for good. Living quietly in his mountain village, he tends the petrol station, keeps to himself, and stays out of trouble. But when his younger brother Carl returns after years abroad, ambitious, charming and full of grand plans, their old rivalry resurfaces. Carl has also brought his wife, Shannon, whose presence unsettles Roy in ways he can’t explain. It‘s not long before the fragile peace between the brothers begins to crack under the weight a shared history too dangerous to uncover.

Tense and atmospheric, The Kingdom is a gripping tale of blood, guilt and the fine line between love and betrayal: no one writes darkness like Jo Nesbo.
