A century ago, a devastating blizzard trapped the families of the Endlands and left them at the mercy of the Devil. According to local legend, he brought death and destruction to the valley before finally being driven back onto the moors.

Now the community’s patriarch has died, and his grandson John Pentecost returns to the remote family farm with his pregnant wife, Kat.
